Dr. Reis is a family oriented Osteopathic physician with a love of teaching, art and swimming. Laura Reis, DO is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and lives near Boise Idaho. Dr. Reis currently works as an adjunct professor at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. She trains first and second year medical students in clinical skills and osteopathic manipulation. She also has a lifelong passion for art and obtained an art history degree from Northwestern University. She has received a M. Ed in Community and Addictions Counseling from the College of William and Mary, where she spent her time shadowing an Osteopathic doctor and growing her appreciation for holistic medicine. This experience led her to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where she received her Doctor of Osteopathy. After completing her residency in Largo, FL, at the largest osteopathic residency on the East Coast, Dr. Reis worked as a family physician providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Reis strives to try and minimize medications taken and reverse disease processes by seeking balance for the body. “I believe the human body wants to be healthy and whole and medicine should give people the tools to achieve a more natural balance.” Dr. Reis shares. She is elated to have the opportunity to break away from the traditional healthcare model that has caged her opportunities to get to know her patients in the past. She is passionate about Direct Primary Care and finally being able to spend time getting to know her patients and put them on a path to better health that is carved perfectly for them.
Dr. Reis resides in Avimor, Idaho with her husband and three children. Dr. Reis loves to spend time connecting with her family and friends and traveling. When she is not working, she revels in athletic activities such as swimming, hiking, and biking as well.
